What do all of the little icons that I see on the site mean?
You'll notice that there are several icons near the fragrance oil listings. These icons represent links to different features of the site. Here are the specifics:
- View additional details about a specific fragrance oil.
- Add a rating and/or review for a fragrance oil, supplier, wick, or wax.
- Add a fragrance oil to your shopping list.
- Add a fragrance oil to your favorites list.
- Add a fragrance oil to your wishlist.NOTE: The favorites list and wishlist icons appear under every user's name in forum threads. If the icons are in full color, this means that the user has a favorites list or wishlist that is public and contains items to view. Clicking the icons will take you to the user's lists. However, if the icons are greyed out, then the user has either nothing on their list, or their list status is private.
What can I do with a Scent Forum Account?
You can do so many things with a free Scent Forum account. For starters, you will be able to add new fragrance oils to the database yourself. This will allow you to update the list with the newest fragrances from your favorite suppliers. In addition, you are also able to keep track of the fragrance oils that interest you through favorites lists and wishlists that you can share with anyone! Plus, keep track of fragrance oils that you need with the shopping list feature!
When you are signed into your account, you will also be able to make fragrance oil and supplier reviews without repeatedly filling in the name and email fields, as in the older versions of the site. Simply login and choose the option of having your username attached to the reviews you make.
It's easy to login to your account. At the top of each page in the main parts of the site, you will see a login box like this:
Once you have registered for an account, just fill in the login fields with username and password, and you're ready to access all of the interactive features of the site and forums. After you have logged in, you should see something like this:

How do I search the fragrance oil database?
You can search the database in a variety of ways. It can be overwhelming at first, but you will figure out your favorite ways of finding oils in no time. Below are some of the different ways that you can search the database:
Quick Form Search - At the top of each page of the main parts of the site, you will see a search form lik this:
By conducting this type of search, you have the option of searching by fragrance name only (for example: blueberry in the Fragrance Oil Name field), by fragrance name and supplier (for example: blueberry in the Fragrance Oil Name field and AAA Supply in the Fragrance Oil Supplier menu), or by fragrance name, supplier, and category (for example: blueberry in the Fragrance Oil Name field, AAA Supply in the Fragrance Oil Supplier menu, and Berries in the Fragrance Oil Category menu).
Supplier Search - When you click the "view all suppliers" button in the navigation menu, you will be taken to a listing of all of the fragrance oil suppliers in the database. By clicking on the number link in the Fragrance Oils column, you will be taken to a listing of all of the fragrance oils in the database from that supplier.
Category Search - When you click the "view all categories" button in the navigation menu, you will be taken to a listing of all of the different fragrance oil categories in the database. By clicking on the number link in the Fragrance Oils column, you will be taken to a listing of all of the fragrance oils in the database listed in a specific category.
